Here we go again.....

Well i am going to attempt to keep this blog updated more this year. I know i have missed about a year and a half so i will try and catch up! Things are going well for us here. 2012 was a pretty good year i must say, as well as the rest of 2011 since i haven't posted since then! :) Ill give you all some brief updates on us all and i promise ill try not to wait another year and a half.
Starting with my awesome kids...
Kade is now 9 and enjoying the 3rd grade. I still can not believe how big he is getting. He really likes school and loves to read. He also likes science. He is always wanting more information on how things work and why they work. Bug and animals are some of his favorite things to study. Outside of school he LOVES to play video games. Almost a little too much! Lol He also enjoys playing soccer. He has been on several recreation teams, indoor and outdoor, and he really enjoys himself. This past fall he finally scored his very first goal. He was so excited and we were excited for him. Kade has grown to be such a great young man. He makes me so proud.
Rylee is now 5 and is in pre-school. She absolutely loves going to school. She is growing up so fast and it makes me kind of sad at times to see my baby growing up. Rylee is also still taking dance classes. She is doing so well. I love watching her perform and she is getting to be such a good little dancer. I remember her first recital and i was worried she wouldn't go on stage, well i don't have to worry about that. She is quite the performer! She smiles and waves and doesn't even care she is on stage in front of so many people. Rylee is really growing up and becoming such a beautiful little girl and im so proud of her.
Now on to Jeremy. He is still working for Boart Longyear and enjoys the work he is doing except for the fact he is gone so much. It is hard at times with him gone for 20 days at a time but we always make it worth it when he comes home by trying to have quality family time. One of his most exciting things since i posted last, for him anyway ;), is in the fall of 2011 he was able to finally hunt is elk that he had been putting in for for 14 years. He was so excited. It was a long grueling hunt but eventually he got his bull and he was so proud of it. I was very happy for him even though its not my thing but i knew how important it was to him.
As for me, things have been a little different. At the beginning of last year, my work went out of business. It was very sad. I loved my job and the people i worked with. It was a second home to me and they were family. So i went from a working mom to a stay at home mom. Everyone thought i would hate being home all the time, but i have actually loved it. I have had bad days and wish i had somewhere i had to go to get me out of the house, but for the most part i have been keeping busy with the kids. Between school, dance, soccer and swimming lessons, i am running around quite a bit. I have started working out while Rylee is in school. Its something to do for myself and to get myself healthier. I really have enjoyed it and it feels good to be doing something for me. But for the most part of my life, i am just enjoying being mom and spending as much time with my kids as i can.
The last big thing that has happened since my last blog is, Jeremy and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary. I cant believe it has been 10 years already! We decided to go to Park City, UT for a couple nights to celebrate. It was a lot of fun. We visited the Olympic park, went on a zipline ride, walked around main street and shopped a little, but my favorite part was that we went on a beautiful horse back ride. I was nervous at first but once we got going i had a lot of fun and view was so pretty. Its been a great 10 years and we have had our ups and downs but i love Jeremy more than ever and i am so excited for what the next 10 years brings us. :)
Well that is all for now and i promise ill try not to wait so long until next time....

Summer Begins

Summer break has officially began now that Kade finished the first grade with flying colors! He was very sad to have school end because he absolutely loved his teacher, Mrs. Tapia. Kade and his good friend, Noah, both came out of school in tears. I felt so bad. Guess its a good thing he had a teacher that he didn't want to leave. :) So now i officially have a second grader! I can't believe Kade is getting so big. Makes me sad to see my little man growing up but at the same time he makes me proud every day. He received awards for outstanding attendance and being such an awesome helper in class.

Kades last day of school ended at 12:30 and so we decided to celebrate by going to the zoo! We also invited his friend, Noah, to go with us. We all had a great time. They are having a dinosaur exhibit at the zoo right now so there are dinosaurs placed around the zoo. The boys thought they were so cool but Rylee didn't think they were so great though. She hid her face quite often going past them. Rylee loved all the other animals though and playing on the playground.

We also this past week celebrated Jeremys birthday since he will not be home for his actual birthday. First we went to dinner the night of June 1st with my parents and Aryn and Andy at Red Lobster. After dinner we surprised Jeremy with a new grill from me and my parents. He was very excited!

On June 2nd, we went to dinner with Jeremys mom and dad at Joes Crab Shack. They like to really embarrass people on their birthdays. They made Jeremy do the mexican hat dance as we sang to him. Good thing he is a good sport!

Then finally we had a bbq with Jeremys siblings on June 3rd. He wanted to break in his new grill before going back to Arizona on the 4th. It was a lot of fun.

We had a great time with Jer home this past 10 days. I miss him when he is gone and so do the kids a lot. But we make every moment count when he is home.

Happy Easter

Our Easter celebrations started the night before. I invited my parents, my sister and her husband, my brother and his girlfriend, and my cousin over to make cookies, have dinner and dye eggs. It was a lot of fun. The kids really enjoyed making the cookies and dying eggs.

Then Easter morning the kids were very excited to see if the Easter Bunny came while they were sleeping. We went upstairs and the egg hunt was on! They had a lot of fun searching for eggs and their baskets. I was quite emotional because unfortunately Jeremy could not be there with us. He was still in Arizona for work. I did the best i could to give the kids the best Easter possible and i think i did pretty good because they seemed to have a great time. They loved everything they got from the Easter Bunny!

Then we went to my parents house to hunt more eggs and have lunch. The kids had a good time searching for eggs in the backyard. It was a great way to end they day. Great food and great family. I am thankful for my family being there for me and my kids and helping us have a great day even though Jeremy could not be with us.

I hope you all had a very Happy Easter!
