T-Ball

This is Kades third year playing t-ball. He loves it and is he is getting very good at it. Most the time he doesnt use the tee to hit the ball, the coach pitches to him now! Rylee loves going to watch kade play ball. Its alot of fun to see him play.

Easter

This year for easter we colored eggs the friday before. My mom and dad came over and the kids had a good time changing the eggs colors. I think Jeremy was having just as much fun as the kids. Rylee kept picking them up and trying to crack them open. she succeeded with 3 eggs. lol

Easter morning the kids came upstairs and looked for eggs and their baskets. This year was fun with Rylee because she actually got into looking for the eggs. once everything was found we got ready and headed to my mom and dads for more egg hunting and lunch. The kids looked so cute in their Easter outfits.

Later on, we went and visited Jeremys parents for a few. We did a small egg hunt with them, but Jers mom had to work so we didnt stay long.

It was a fun day with the kids and family.

We got a PUPPY!!!

On February 20 we welcomed a new member into our family..... A PUPPY!

Jeremy had a friend of a friend that had puppies they wanted to get rid of for free so we could not turn down the opportunity. We have been wanting a dog for a long time and we wanted one that we could train to be a house dog since we live in a condo. Jeremy researched and came up with the name Nzuri ( the "N" is silent.) The name means Beautiful in swahili. He was very proud of the name so i said ok. I didnt like the N in front of the name but he wanted it to be unique so i let him have the name as he wanted it.

Nzuri was born January 6. Her dad is a boxer and he mom is a red bone blue tick hound. I read up on the breeds of dogs and both said they were good with kids, other animals and are great family dogs.

The kids love having her. Jer and I do too, but neither one of us realized how much work a puppy would be. Its like having another child! Here are a few pictures of the new member of the Mabbutt family. :)

Rylee in Primary Childrens Hospital

For a couple weeks before Christmas, Rylee had been not feeling well at all. Just as she seemed to be getting over it, she would be sick again. It was so sad. The doctor said it was a virus and to keep her hydrated and watch her temperature. So we had been forcing her to drink as much as we could. Well Christmas day came and she really was not feeling good. We couldn't really get her to eat or drink anything. We had decided that we would take her into an insta-care the next day since it was Christmas and nothing was open but the ER. Well later that night she came down with a fever and we decided we couldnt wait another day. We sent Kade home with Jeremys mom and we took Rylee to the ER at about 10 pm.

Once in the ER, they gave her medicine for her fever and was monitoring her oxygen, which was borderline on the low side. They gave her a breathing treatment and waited to see if her oxygen would drop again. And it did. At that point, the decision was made to transport her to the Primary Childrens Hospital by ambulance. I felt bad she was so sick, but i remained calm since i had been through this with Kade when he was 3 months old.

I rode in the ambulence with Rylee and Jeremy followed behind us. Once we got to the hospital, we were put in a room for more monitering and tests to determine if she actually had to be admitted to the hospital. They did so many tests on her. It was so sad. It broke my heart to see her so miserable. Her oxygen stayed low, so they did admit her. We got a room about 6 am. And we were finally able to go to sleep about 7 am.

We were up by 9 am because the doctor came in to talk to us. She told us Rylee was dehydrated so she was on iv fluids for a short time and we HAD to get her to drink on her own. Which is easier said than done with a 2 year old. And she also had mucus in her lungs which was causing her oxygen to drop when she would sleep. So we had to stay in the hospital until Rylee could go a full night without being on oxygen and she had to be producing urine again since she was so dehydrated.

She ended up being in the hospital until the morning of December 28th. It was so nice to be able to go home. It was a long weekend in the hospital. I want to thank Jeremys parents for keeping kade the whole weekend for us so we could stay with Rylee and thanks for bringing him to see her. And i also want to thank my mom and dad. They were there at the hospital everyday and was just there if we needed them. They sat with Rylee so me and Jer could go eat without leaving her alone. They really helped me out a lot that weekend just by being there. Thank you and I love you mom and dad.

Rylee is doing well now and is back to my pain in the but 2 year old with major attitude. Not sure where she gets that from! :)

Here are some pictures of Rylees hospital stay....

Christmas Time

I know this is a bit late but i just haven't had the chance to update my blog for a while. We had a really good holiday season. Lots of fun and family. My kids, and Jer and I, got spoiled this past Christmas. It was great! Getting ready for Christmas was more fun now that Rylee was old enough to help out, even though she took more things off the tree than put them on. Kade was very proud to be the one to put up the angel. They both are getting too big! Enjoy the pictures!
