Rylee in Primary Childrens Hospital

For a couple weeks before Christmas, Rylee had been not feeling well at all. Just as she seemed to be getting over it, she would be sick again. It was so sad. The doctor said it was a virus and to keep her hydrated and watch her temperature. So we had been forcing her to drink as much as we could. Well Christmas day came and she really was not feeling good. We couldn't really get her to eat or drink anything. We had decided that we would take her into an insta-care the next day since it was Christmas and nothing was open but the ER. Well later that night she came down with a fever and we decided we couldnt wait another day. We sent Kade home with Jeremys mom and we took Rylee to the ER at about 10 pm.

Once in the ER, they gave her medicine for her fever and was monitoring her oxygen, which was borderline on the low side. They gave her a breathing treatment and waited to see if her oxygen would drop again. And it did. At that point, the decision was made to transport her to the Primary Childrens Hospital by ambulance. I felt bad she was so sick, but i remained calm since i had been through this with Kade when he was 3 months old.

I rode in the ambulence with Rylee and Jeremy followed behind us. Once we got to the hospital, we were put in a room for more monitering and tests to determine if she actually had to be admitted to the hospital. They did so many tests on her. It was so sad. It broke my heart to see her so miserable. Her oxygen stayed low, so they did admit her. We got a room about 6 am. And we were finally able to go to sleep about 7 am.

We were up by 9 am because the doctor came in to talk to us. She told us Rylee was dehydrated so she was on iv fluids for a short time and we HAD to get her to drink on her own. Which is easier said than done with a 2 year old. And she also had mucus in her lungs which was causing her oxygen to drop when she would sleep. So we had to stay in the hospital until Rylee could go a full night without being on oxygen and she had to be producing urine again since she was so dehydrated.

She ended up being in the hospital until the morning of December 28th. It was so nice to be able to go home. It was a long weekend in the hospital. I want to thank Jeremys parents for keeping kade the whole weekend for us so we could stay with Rylee and thanks for bringing him to see her. And i also want to thank my mom and dad. They were there at the hospital everyday and was just there if we needed them. They sat with Rylee so me and Jer could go eat without leaving her alone. They really helped me out a lot that weekend just by being there. Thank you and I love you mom and dad.

Rylee is doing well now and is back to my pain in the but 2 year old with major attitude. Not sure where she gets that from! :)

Here are some pictures of Rylees hospital stay....
